Peaceful Bayside is bringing community action and fresh, visionary leadership to Bayside
make a submission on the
draft Scarborough Park Masterplan

The Kamay Greenway Working Group has been lobbying Bayside Council and the NSW state government to deliver an active transport and nature corridor from Kyeemagh to Sandringham that connects our community, provides safer walking and cycling routes, and restores nature and our waterways.
We are excited to see the council is planning part of the Kamay Greenway as an extension of the active transport corridor that is proposed to end at the M6 stub at the northern end of the AS Tanner Reserve in Monterey.
We are encouraging residents to make a submission to the Scarborough Park Draft Masterplan by Monday 24th February.
Here is where you can make a submission:

To support the creation of the full Kamay Greenway, the Kamay Greenway Working Group suggests Bayside Council:
1. Make the Scarborough Park Masterplan, as much as possible, future-proof to connect to the Kamay Greenway
3. To preserve the Kurnell Dune Forest, a main route should be along the east edge of Leo Smith Reserve Baseball Diamond near Garrigarrang Avenue. This would reduce conflicts in nearby areas and provide connectivity to the rest of the proposed Kamay Greenway, which we propose then heads south via Margate Street.
4. Ensure retention of soft-surface bushwalk loops and minimal disruption to natural areas.
5. Where possible, ensure walking and cycling paths be split with the path combining at pinch-points only, like boardwalks and bridges.
6, Preference for natural materials (e.g., sandstone, eco-friendly pavers,) and curved, pet-friendly boardwalks
7. Solar lighting for safety, and consistent wayfinding motifs throughout the trail.
8. Inclusion of amenities like bike racks, rest stops, and educational signage.
